Lighting the Way

This very unique card is created using the Lighting the Way Bundle.  Use Metallic cardstock to create a 'glowing' lantern then add pretty fireflies to create a warm and inviting night time scene.

Measurements:

Starry Sky card stock: 4 ¼” x 11”

Soft Sea Foam card stock: 4” x 4” for leaves

Crushed Curry card stock: 3 ¾” x 2” for circles

Brushed Metallic card stock: 3 ¾” x 2 ½” for lantern

Basic White cardstock: scrap for bug

Enjoy The Journey Designer Series Paper: 4” x 5 ¼” (blue), ¾” x 5 ¼” (yellow strip)

Instructions:

  1. Adhere the blue DSP to the card front using Stampin’ Seal. Then, add the yellow DSP strip to the left side using Stampin’ Seal. Don’t go all the way to the left- leave a little blue showing.
  2. Die cut the lantern using the Brushed Metallic paper. Then, die cut two yellow circles using the Crushed Curry card stock.
  3. Stamp the sentiment using Starry Sky ink on one of the Crushed Curry circles. Then, attach the other Crushed Curry circle to the backside of the lantern using Mini Glue Dots. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the lantern and add it to the card front.
  4. Add the stamped Crushed Curry circle to the card using Stampin’ Seal.
  5. Stamp three (one of each) of the leaves on Soft Sea Foam card stock. Die cut the leaves. Add the leaves around the lantern using a combination of Mini Dimensionals and Mini Glue Dots.
  6. Stamp the bug on Basic White cardstock using Starry Sky ink. Using a Sponge Dauber and Crushed Curry ink, rub a little ink on the end of the bug to show it glowing. Then, die cut the bug.
  7. Add the bug to the card front using a Stampin’ Dimensional.
  8. To finish the card, add a few Iridescent Pastel Gems.
